(Arlington, TX) — The biggest American-made conventional crawler crane ever built is in Arlington.
The giant machine is there to help install a retractable roof on Globe Life Field, the future home of the Texas Rangers. The crane is so large, it took 150 trucks to get it from a storage yard in Atlanta to Arlington. The crane also did work on Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, where the NFL’s Falcons play.
The Rangers are leaving their current home, Globe Life Park, for the new Globe Life Field, which is set to open in 2020.
