(Cleburne, TX) – A dryer unit appears to be the cause of a fire that ignited the back room of a Cleburne home.

According to the Cleburne Times Review, Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Granbury Street and found heavy smoke coming from the home and a fire contained to a laundry room.  One of the residents said he put some clothes in the dryer, went to lay down and then woke up to the smell of smoke.  Everyone had gotten out of the home safely by the time Firefighters arrived.

CFD Assistant Fire Chief Keith Scarbrough said the man’s quick thinking saved the home from becoming a total loss.
