(Fort Worth, TX) — Tarrant County’s new commuter rail line is up and running, but may be pushed back because of the Government

TEXRail made its ceremonial inaugural ride earlier this week.  The rail system connects downtown Fort Worth to DFW International Airport with stops in North Richland Hills and Grapevine.  Service is not yet open to the public.  That happens Saturday.  However, that might not happen if the government shutdown continues.

It’s called the “hole in the wall”, a part of the route where TEXRail and two freight tracks meet under Spur 280 in downtown Fort Worth.  The Federal Railroad Administration inspectors need to sign off on it as safe for passenger train travel, however, they’re on furlough because of the shutdown.
