(Mansfield, TX) – A Fort Worth tax preparation office is trying to figure out how boxes of customer’s tax returns and information ended up in a Mansfield dumpster.

NBC 5 reports the documents came from the Liberty Income Tax office at 3401 Altamesa Boulevard in Fort Worth.  A custodian reportedly found the boxes filled with sensitive documents while cleaning the Mansfield building and started contacting people to let them know he had found their information.  Liberty Income Tax says they have since recovered the documents that should have been shredded.

Liberty says they’ll offer identity theft protection free of charge for those customers affected by the breech.
