(Granbury, TX) – Hood County is in danger of having their animal shelter shut down if repairs, mandated by the State, are not made by March.

The facility has been cited by inspectors with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.  According to the Hood County News, Sheriff Roger Deeds says the repairs are related to short cuts taken when the building was constructed.  The Commissioners Court recently approved nearly $60,000 to replace rusty window seals in the dog area.  Deeds says the windows are rotting and have sharp jagged edges.

The problem has not affected the area where cats are housed.
