(Weatherford, TX) – Some cities and school districts in Parker County are expected to cancel their upcoming May elections.

The Weatherford Democrat reports the filing deadline has come and gone with many candidates running unopposed.  Perhaps the biggest race that won’t be on the ballot is for Weatherford Mayor.  Businessman Paul Paschel filed in January and drew no opponent.

Two places on the Aledo ISD school board will go to the lone candidates and all three incumbents up for re-election on the Hudson Oaks City Council are running unopposed.  Elections will also be cancelled for the Milsap and Springtown school boards.
