Cresson Awarded Grant For New Park

(Cresson, Tx) – The city of Cresson has been chosen to receive a $500,000 matching grant from Texas Parks & Wildlife for a 23-acre park that will feature playground equipment, covered picnic tables, sports fields, ponds and flower gardens designed to attract monarch butterflies.

Developer Ike Thomas donated the land.  Cresson Mayor Bob Cornett tells the Hood County News that the city received the highest score in the grant program’s scoring system.
