(Mineral Wells, TX) – Mineral Wells High School has a new Principal and the district didn’t have to look to far away to get him.

Doug Funk has been tapped for the job beginning at the end of the current school year.  Currently Funk is the Principal at neighboring Weatherford High School, where he’s been the Principal for the last two years.  When asked why he was making the move from Weatherford to Mineral Wells, Funk told the Mineral Wells Index he had heard a lot of great things about the kids, teachers and administration at MWISD and that “It sounds like a place I want to be.”

Funk will be replacing retiring Mineral Wells principal Jon Almeida.
