(Weatherford, Tx) – The Freedom from Religion Foundation wants the Weatherford school board to stop opening their meetings with prayer.

The Weatherford Democrat reports the foundation, after receiving a complaint from a community member, sent a letter to WISD trustees last month asking them to stop the Christian prayers because it might make religious minorities or nonreligious attendees uncomfortable.

The school board has yet to respond to the letter, so Freedom from Religion says they will pursue other legal options.
