Father And Son Drown In Fort Worth Quarry

(Fort Worth, TX) — A man and his adult son are both dead after drowning in a Fort Worth quarry on Saturday night.

A 25-year-old man reportedly went into the water on the property of Silvercreek Materials while attending a company function near Lake Worth. He couldn’t swim, so his 51-year-old father jumped in to rescue him, but also failed to resurface. Divers with Fort Worth Fire Department unsuccessfully looked for them on Saturday evening.

The team recovered the bodies of the two men, Martin Gutierrez Jr and Martin Gutierrez Sr, on Sunday.
