(Granbury, Tx) – More people are moving to Granbury and Hood County.
That’s according to recently released population figures from the U.S. Census Bureau. Hood County ranks #9 in the top 10 fastest growing counties in the nation. The Hood County News reports the county grew 4.1 percent from July 1, 2017 to July 1, 2018, pushing the county’s population estimate to 60,537 compared to 58,154 the previous year. That’s 2,383 new residents in just one year.
GISD enrollment has steadily increased over the last few years at a 2 to 4% pace, and the trend is expected to continue, according to GISD Superintendent Jeremy Glenn.
Other Texas Counties in the top 10 are: #2 and #3 Comal and Kaufman Counties, and Midland County in the #6 spot.
