(Fort Worth, TX) — The Fort Worth City Council is working with Trinity Metro to introduce a new rideshare service for TEXRail riders.

The council has agreed to spend 500-thousand-dollars on a pilot program for the Mercantile Center area near I-35 W and Meachum Boulevard.  The program will offer an eight-minute guarantee and a three-dollar ride in a Mercedes van.  TEXRail passengers can take an on-demand shuttle anywhere within a designated area.

The pilot program will involve five of the vans.
