(Denton, TX) —  A University of North Texas student is now a graduate, even though he’s laid up in a hospital bed.

Matthew Herrera is recovering at Medical City Denton after a suspected drunk driver ran into him as he was on foot.  Herrera was going to his graduation ceremony on Saturday night, but UNT President Neal Smatresk took his diploma to him in his hospital room on Saturday afternoon.

The DWI suspect was arrested for intoxication assault.
