Hit-And-Run Driver Knocks Arlington PD Officer Off Bicycle

(Arlington, TX) — Police are on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver who knocked over an Arlington PD bicycle officer early Sunday morning.

The officer was working the Kaboo Festival at AT&T Stadium at the time of the accident. Police say he and another officer were responding to a call on north Collins Street shortly before 1 a.m. As the officers crossed Collins near Rogers, a northbound dark SUV ran into one of them and knocked him off his marked police bike. The SUV then drove away.

The officer was treated and released at Medical City of Arlington Hospital.

UPDATE: Arlington PD tweets Investigators have narrowed the suspect vehicle down to a black or dark colored Van or SUV with a glowing light on the dash (possibly a ride share service such as Lyft or Uber sign). Anyone with info asked to contact Det. Lawson 817.459.5635
