(Austin, TX) — A bill that would ban red light cameras in Texas is one step closer to becoming law.
On Friday, the state Senate approved House Bill 1631, which now heads to Governor Greg Abbott’s office to be signed. The bill bans cities from using cameras to catch locals speeding or running red lights.
Cities like Arlington and Richardson have already stopped using the devices, and DeSoto decided not to install them in the first place.
