Dixie Monument Protection Bill Dies In Texas House

(Austin, TX) — The Texas House won’t be voting this session on a bill that would make it harder to remove or alter Confederate monuments.

The Senate bill isn’t included on the final agenda of bills that must be voted on by tonight’s deadline in the House. Dead bills can still be added as amendments to other bills being voted on in the last week of the legislative session, but an appropriate bill for an amendment about monument preservation doesn’t appear to be on the agenda.
