(Hood County, Tx) – A weekend car accident in Hood County has taken the lives of two grandparents returning home from their grandchild’s graduation ceremony.

According to the Department of Public Safety, the 83-year-old woman and 91-year-old man from North Richland Hills were traveling north on Hwy 144 when a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Michael Keigley of Meridian turned in front of them near FM 2425.  Shirley & Gerald Sloan were both airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth where they later died.

Keigley was flown to Harris Hospital Fort Worth, his condition is unknown.  No word yet on whether any charge will be filed in the case.
