(Austin, TX) — The State Board of Plumbing Examiners won’t be shut down on September 1st after all.
Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order on Thursday to extend the life of the regulatory board. The board’s impending shutdown was the unplanned result of some unfinished business by the state legislature before their session ended. Health and safety concerns led to calls for a special session to make sure that the board that licenses plumbers would survive the summer.
Abbott had signaled that he was planning such a move before Thursday’s order.
