FWPD Releases Body Camera Footage Of Deadly Confrontation With Suspect

(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth police are releasing body cameras footage of a deadly encounter with a suspect.

The video shows officers chasing JaQuavion Slaton last Sunday, who appears to be holding a weapon in his hand. Officers also yell Slaton was reaching for his gun before they open fire. The suspect was inside a pickup at the time.

Interim Police Chief Ed Kraus told reporters there is evidence the 20-year-old fired one shot, the medical examiner is trying to determine if Slaton tried to shoot himself.
