(Fort Worth, TX) — The families of fallen police officers are being supported by a charity sporting event that was held over the weekend.

More than a dozen teams participated in the first Garrett Hull Blue Bowl flag football tournament on Saturday.  Hull was a Fort Worth police officer who was shot and killed in an undercover operation last year.  The money raised at Saturdays’ event will go to scholarships and the families of fallen officers.

The event brought in around $16,000, of that, $6,000 will go directly to Hull’s family.
