(Dallas, TX) — The mother of the “Affluenza Teen” Ethan Couch is scheduled to make a court appearance today.
A judge revoked 52-year-old Tonya Couch’s bond after she failed a drug test earlier in the year. She’s charged with hindering apprehension and money laundering, after fleeing to Mexico with her son in 2015. Ethan Couch was sentenced to only ten years’ probation for a 2013 DWI crash that killed four people in Burleson. His defense was that he was so affluent he didn’t know right from wrong. He ended up spending two years in jail for the Mexico escapade.
Tonya Couch also made a court appearance just last week to tell the judge she was broke and couldn’t afford an attorney.
