North Texas Republican Not Running For Re-Election

(Bedford, TX) — State Representative Jonathan Stickland is not running for re-election.

The Bedford Republican announced the decision this week, saying eight years in government is enough and he doesn’t want to become a career politician. Stickland says he plans to spend more time focusing on his family, his business, and his church. He was known for crossing swords with party leadership at the State Capitol and pushing for constitutional carry.

Stickland also successfully got a bill banning red light cameras signed into law this past legislative session.
