(Fort Worth, TX) — Teachers in the Fort Worth ISD can look forward to pay raises in the fall.
The school board approved the budget for the next school year on Tuesday night. The budget includes a two-percent raise for teachers. That bumps starting pay in the district from $53,000 to just over $54,000.
The raise is separate from an estimated $15 million in state money coming to the district with the passage of an education bill during this year’s legislative session. Fort Worth ISD will figure out other uses for those funds.
