(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth police are investigating how two children ended up being accidentally shot by another child.

Thursday, a five-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl reportedly found the gun in a box of clothes at a home off I-30 and Beach Street.  A ten-year-old cousin tried to take the gun away from them and it went off, wounding both the younger children.  Their grandmother drove them to Cook Children’s Hospital where one of the kids had to undergo emergency surgery.

The Grandmother says the handgun had a painted orange tip and looked like a toy.  She says she doesn’t know whose gun it is.  Police say she won’t face charges.
