(Lake Worth, Tx) – Lake Worth Police are warning commuters about a gas leak that has shut down the highway.

Eastbound Jacksboro Highway (SH 199) was shut down this morning between Azle Ave and Boat Club Rd, due to a major gas leak.  Police say emergency crews worked throughout the night to try and repair the line, but were unable to do so.

Traffic is being rerouted onto Azle Avenue as an alternative route to Loop 820.
