Archaeological Dig Underway At The Alamo

(San Antonio, TX) — Archaeological teams are doing a dig at the Alamo site in San Antonio.

An excavation is already in progress at the long barracks, and a dig at the church is scheduled to start next week. The goal is to determine what kind of condition the historic buildings are in and what can be done to preserve them.

The dig teams plan to place sensors into the ground that will monitor the movement of ground water. How long the project takes will depend on what the teams find.
