(Cleburne, TX) — A man accused of child sex assault is dead after killing himself outside the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.

Acting on evidence that 35-year-old Michael McGovern was distributing child pornography, officers searched his home near Mansfield on Monday.  They confiscated some electronic devices, but didn’t arrest McGovern.  A warrant for his arrest was issued Tuesday after investigators reportedly found a video of McGovern having sex with two children under age six.

On Wednesday, McGovern drove into the parking lot of the sheriff’s office in Cleburne and fatally shot himself.
