North Texas Police Using Doorbell Cams To Solve Crimes

(River Oaks, TX) — Police in a Tarrant County community are now using doorbell cameras to help solve crimes.

They’ve teamed up with Amazon-owned Ring for access to their Neighbors app. This allows officers to ask camera owners for any video they’ve captured of potential crimes. A detective in River Oaks just used the portal for the first time yesterday to investigate a burglary. He sent a message to Ring users and hopes to get a response soon.
