(Fort Worth, TX) — A judge says a recording of a police interrogation will be admitted as evidence in the trial of an accused kidnapper.
Fort Worth police say 51-year-old Michael Webb kidnapped an eight-year-old girl right in front of the girl’s mother while they were walking in their Ryan Place neighborhood last May. The girl was later found with Webb in a hotel room in Forest Hills. He reportedly admitted to the crime during a three-hour interrogation by Fort Worth police and FBI agents.
At a Thursday court hearing, Webb’s defense claimed he was sleep-deprived at the time and couldn’t consent to waiving his Miranda rights. The judge admitted the interrogation as evidence.
