(Dallas, TX) — DFW Airport is banning single-use plastic straws in its terminals.
Officials of the nation’s second-largest airport made the announcement on Monday that the phase-out of plastic straws was effective immediately. The airport’s Twitter account says more than four-million plastic straws are used in its terminals every year, adding up to nearly two-tons of plastic.
DFW officials say this is part of an effort to cut down the airport’s environmental impact.
