(Mineral Wells, Tx) – Attendees at Thursday’s Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet will get an update on the $65 million restoration project for the city’s famed Baker Hotel.

The Mineral Wells Index reports Baker Hotel development partner Chad Patton and Mineral Wells interim Economic Development Director David Hawes will speak about the anticipated economic impact the restoration will have on the city.  The 14-story hotel is in the early stages of a three-year construction project, that when complete will be the Baker Hotel Resort & Spa, a destination resort and convention center.  Patton and Hawes are expected to discuss how the public’s $4 million commitment will benefit not only the hotel, but the town in terms of economic impact.

In November the Baker will turn 90 years old.
