(Austin, TX) — Austin police are investigating the death of former University of Texas quarterback Jevan Snead.

Police don’t suspect foul play is involved after officers responded when the 32-year-old was found dead in his Austin home Saturday night.  Snead was a 2006 graduate of Stephenville High School, an All-American Quarterback for the Yellow Jackets and inducted into the Stephenville High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.

Following high school, Snead became the Longhorns quarterback but transferred to Ole Miss after losing the starting job to Colt McCoy.  He went undrafted in the NFL in 2010 but was briefly picked up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

No word yet on Snead’s cause of death.  Friends of the Snead family have set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses.
