(Godley, Tx) – The Chief of the Godley Volunteer Fire Department is trying to defend fiefighters and the department against negative claims made on social media.

Godley Fire Chief James Woolard posted on Facebook about false rumors, he said were being circulated by a local Facebook group page, saying the department refuses to respond to calls in subdivisions with speed bumps or substandard roadways.  In his post, Woolard said “That statement is not only blatantly false, it is a danger to public safety if anyone were to believe it and not call 911 for services.”

Chief Woolard adds “We can assure you that we will respond to any emergency, at any time, at any location, regardless of road conditions or any other factor. We are here to serve our community and that is exactly what we will do, regardless of any obstacle.”
