(Brock, Tx) – Brock ISD campuses now include office space for Department of Public Safety State Troopers.
The Weatherford Democrat reports the move came at the recommendation of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott in his effort to focus on school safety. One of Abbott’s recommendations included partnering with local law enforcement and hosting them on school campuses. The Brock school district took him up on the suggestion. Anywhere from one to four troopers will be at different campuses at various times.
Brock ISD is so far the only district in Parker County that has established the partnership, though DPS is communicating with other schools. The DPS says it’s also good or the Troopers because they get to interact with kids and establish positive relationships.
