Southwest Airlines Raises Fares, Competition Follows Suit

(Dallas, TX) — Southwest Airlines is raising its fares, and other airlines are doing likewise.

The Dallas-based carrier raised fares five-dollars for flights to all destinations except Hawaii. Industry analysts say Delta Air Lines and United Airlines matched Southwest’s fare increases.

Air travelers nationwide have faced higher ticket prices this year as a result of limited capacity caused by the FAA’s grounding of the Boeing 737 Max.
