(Stephenville, Tx) – Folks in Stephenville are still dealing with the aftermath of this week’s severe storms.

Stephenville Police reported widespread power outages, downed trees and power lines and damage to several downtown buildings and businesses. The police department building was among those damaged by a strong line of thunderstorms that rolled into Erath County late Sunday night into early Monday morning.  One neighborhood that sustained some wind damage is on the westside of Tarleton Memorial Stadium.  Stephenville City Park has also been closed until further notice due to storm damage.

The National Weather Service tweeted this morning that a team would be out today surveying the damage in Erath County.  Erath is one of the 16 counties included in Governor Greg Abbott’s disaster declaration.
