(Keene, Tx) – Keene Police posted on Facebook, that an Officer responding to a call on Tuesday about a loose animal, found six adult dogs and seven puppies in an abandoned house.

Police say the animals had no food or water and they believe had been left alone for at least 15 days.  Several officers were called in to help capture the dogs and take them to the animal shelter.

The Department says the dogs have not been claimed by the owner and are now available to foster or adopt at the Keene Animal Shelter.  Police say the case is currently under investigation.
