(Dallas, TX) — Fort Worth Police Officers Association President Manny Ramirez has testified in the lawsuit brought on by ex-Chief Joel Fitzgerald.

Ramirez told a judge Wednesday he was completely shocked when Fitzgerald got into an argument with the head of Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas in May.  The confrontation happened during National Police Week in Washington, DC and was cited as a factor in Fitzgerald’s firing.

The ex-chief is suing in hopes of keeping the city from hiring a new permanent chief.
