(Fort Worth, TX) — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is trying to keep a Fort Worth child on life support.
The nine-month-old girl has been on life support since July, after she was born prematurely. In early September, the hospital told the Lewis family they had to find another hospital within ten days, citing Texas law that states doctors can end treatment if the patient has little chance of survival. Paxton says the core principles of the Constitution say no one should be deprived of life, and the law does just that.
A restraining order issued this month required the hospital to continue treatment for the girl, but only until December 10th.
