(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth city officials will announce today that Interim Police Chief Ed Kraus now has the job permanently.

The city manager offered Kraus the job on Wednesday, and he accepted.  Kraus has held the interim position since May, following the firing of former Chief Joel Fitzgerald, who has been carrying on a legal fight to get his job back.

Last month, a judge refused to extend a temporary restraining order Fitzgerald had obtained that kept the city from naming a permanent replacement.
