Tarrant County Reports First Death From Pediatric Flu Since 2015

(Fort Worth, TX) — Tarrant County health officials are confirming the county’s first pediatric flu death since 2015.

Public Health Director Vinny Taneja announced Thursday that the child had tested positive for Influenza B, which is making an early start in North Texas this season. The only other detail Taneja gave is that the young patient had underlying health conditions.

Health officials say the spread of the flu is almost a month ahead of the past two years.
