(Fort Worth, TX)  —  Fort Worth police are announcing that a cold-case murder from more than 36-years ago has been solved through DNA evidence.

In June 1983, somebody took 11-year-old Julie Fuller from an Arlington motel.  She was found dead the next day.  Fort Worth police used a DNA sample from the crime scene to come up with a positive ID of the man they believe is responsible for the girl’s abduction and murder.

Police say James Francis McNichols is Julie’s killer. But he died in 2004, so he won’t stand trial.
