(Cleburne, Tx) – The whole town of Cleburne and the rest of the world wants to know who stole Cousin Eddie!
The mannequin of the “Christmas Vacation” character has been a featured yard decoration at a Cleburne home for the past few Christmases but was stolen Sunday. Sandy Blunck tells WFAA TV he loved the movie so much and that there was no better character than Cousin Eddie, so he decided to put a mannequin of Eddie in is bathrobe emptying the sewer up in his yard at his off Nolan River Road. It quickly because a Christmastime attraction.
Blunk moved last fall and left the mannequin with his neighbor Cody Long to continue the tradition. Around 11:00 Sunday night Cousin Eddie was snatched, so Long took to Facebook to help find the beloved mannequin. The post was shared over 300 times and has created a stir in the Cleburne community, with offers to form a search party, t-shirts that say, “Find Cousin Eddie” and the hashtag #justiceforcousineddie.
Long tells 92.1 FM that a “Find Cousin Eddie” event will take place Saturday from 4 – 6p at Tractor Supply in Cleburne. Hank FM’s Johnny Wayne and the crew will be there.
