(Austin, TX) —  Texas Governor Greg Abbott is praying for the victims in Sunday’s deadly church shooting in White Settlement.

A gunman killed two people when he opened fire during a service at the West Freeway Church of Christ on the West side of Fort Worth.  Church members reacted and returned fire, killing the gunman.   Abbott called it an “evil act of violence.”  He added that places of worship should be sacred.

Abbott also praised the church members who took down the shooter.
