(Mineral Wells, Tx) – Several chemical explosions rocked the Industrial Park area near Mineral Wells High School early Monday afternoon.

The Mineral Wells Index say no injuries were reported to workers or firefighters as a result of three explosions that sent thick black smoke into the air at Buckley Oil Company on S.E. Industrial Parkway in the Fort Wolters complex.  Fire officials believe a static electrical charge sparked a flash fire on volatile chemicals used for the production of gasoline, however, what ignited the chemicals and caused the fire remains under investigation.

Mineral Wells ISD was not in session at the time so there were no health or safety concerns for the students or faculty.
