(Cresson, Tx) – The May elections will bring a new Mayor to the town of Cresson.

Longtime mayor Bob Cornett says he will not be seeking re-election, instead he plans to retire.  Cornett has been Cresson’s mayor since 2003.  Council member Teena Putteet-Conway has been tapped to take over as mayor. She filed for the Place 6 seat that Cornett has held.

Putteet-Conway was appointed to the Place 4 seat on the City Council early last year following the death of councilman Ron Pyles.
