Ellis County Reports First Case Of Coronavirus

(Maypearl, TX) — Ellis County is reporting its first case of coronavirus.

Health officials announced on Tuesday night that the patient is a woman from Maypearl in her 70s. She went to the hospital to be tested for a stroke and was found to have the symptoms of the virus. She and her family will be isolated at home and monitored by county health officials. The patient hadn’t traveled, so her case was caught within the community.

State officials are looking for residents who may have been in contact with the woman.
