(Dallas, TX) — The CEO of DFW International Airport says the coronavirus pandemic is the worst disruption modern aviation has ever experienced.
Sean Donahue, in a teleconference with DFW Airport board members, said on Thursday morning that the impact of the virus is greater than that of 9/11. He said flight activity at DFW has been cut in half, and the number of travelers passing through the airport is down as much as 90-percent from this time last year.
He said the airport is forecasting a 40-percent drop in revenue for the last half of fiscal 2020.
