(Granbury, Tx) – Hood County Court-at-Law Judge Vincent Messina has appointed a special prosecutor to take on violators of the governor’s COVID-19-related executive orders, after County Attorney Matt Mills’ refused to do so.
According to the Hood County News, violators can be charged with a Class B misdemeanor, which are handled by Mills’ office and processed through Messina’s court, but Mills has stated that he will not enforce the governor’s shutdown orders because he feels they are unconstitutional.
District Attorney Ryan Sinclair will serve as the special prosecutor.
