(Fort Worth, TX) — A curfew is now in effect in Fort Worth.

City officials enacted it on Monday night in response to the weekend’s riots nationwide.  On Sunday night, Fort Worth police had to use tear gas to break up a group that blocked the 7th Street Bridge in the downtown area.  Police Chief Ed Kraus says some of the protesters on the bridge threw rocks at the police, along with water bottles filled with bleach or ice.  Police responded with smoke grenades, tear gas, and flash-bangs.

The curfew will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. until at least this Thursday.
